We were booked to move with Careful Movers this past weekend 25/04/26 weeks in advance, I did my due diligence the week of my move to make sure all details are confirmed and sorted.
Then Moving day arrives, experiencing the worst level of after payment service I’ve had in my life. And I’ve moved ALOT.
We booked a 3ton truck, paid an inconvenience fee so the truck could be parked outside the complex and movers walk from my unit to truck as that’s our complex rules. To have a 2 ton truck arrive with a furniture list that was incorrect and excluded the number of boxes we had to have moved.
We were told the 2ton was brought so the movers didn’t have to be inconvenienced by the amount of space between truck and unit. (Why did I pay this then?)
So, I pivot and decide to let them pack the 2ton (we have damaged goods because furniture had to be Tetris’d) and make their way to my new home. The movers unloaded the first load and would naturally have needed to return to the old address, only to notify us that they need to leave and won’t be returning to the old house to collect my remaining furniture until the office of Careful movers calls the gentlemen moving the house , so to instruct them to fetch the rest of my stuff. I got hold of the WhatsApp number at 2pm stating there’s been no update and only to be ignored thereafter, with not even an apology response to my endless calls and messages on WhatsApp. I was then contacted by the movers themselves to notify me just after 15h30 that they are making their way back to my old house.
1. I paid for a 3ton truck and got a 2ton.
2. I paid for the inconvenience of transporting the goods from my unit to truck and that was not adhered to.
3. My furniture list was incorrectly delivered to the movers.
4. No communication from your offices to ease the process I paid for.
5. No business etiquette for internal handover and communication regarding your clients as well as external communication on day of move.Read more
