Via the DROPPA website , they connect clients like me to other couriers like FIRST FREIGHT COURIER'S, i.e. you go the DROPPA website and enter information as required, then you have a choice of selecting from a choice of a few 3rd party courier companies like FIRST FREIGHT.
I chose FIRST FRIEGHT ast it was the cheapest and said package woidl be picked up that same day and 5pm and delivery the next day. That was on the 22nd of November. I paid and immediately noticed that the system had messed my order up by saying I would be collecting 2 packages when it was actually. This was just the beginning of my troubles to come. So I called DROPPA to resolve the issue, I was advised to cancel order on my side which I did that same day. Instead of taking those funds of the cancelled order and diverting them to my new order i was advised to just pay again and that my cancelled order would be processed after. They did process the refund but did not tell me they would not be refunding into my account ( source of funds) but into the DROPPA wallet, which I contested and they agreed to put refund into my account.That was on the 26th of November. As if I they had not been aware that I was transacting from a foreign country they told be they could not process refund because of high bank charges and that i should provide a south african bank account which I did. It took them up to the 4th of December to tell me that they could not process refund because of intentional.bamk charges mind you the package still hadn't been picked up. I provided south afrucan account details on the 5th of Dec.
The entire time I was using a whole lot of airtime and they kept sending emails asking me to verifify things they should have known by then , as I had fixed my order and paid, things like waybill number, pickup address, drop off address; all of which I had already provided via email numerous times.
On the 9th of December they sent proof that refund had been processed. At this point I was annoyed of the constant back and forth between DROPPA, FIRST FREIGHT snd myself; many 3 way call between us the package still has not been picked up of delivered.
On the 9th DROPPA sends an email to say package was delivered on the 2nd of Dec ( 7 days before the 9th). I proceed to check my emails to verify this and discover that the Delivery note issued by FIRST FREIGHT ( the company DROPPA assigned for this particular job, was wrong. I explained this and finally someone was sent to the pick up address.. i was contacted by the company that had prepared the package and was to hand it over to the courier people; I was asked to provide a waybaill number which I did and the courier guys could not confirm it, so he left without picking up package ( that was today the 10th of December 2024).
I asked them to just cancel the order and give me my refund. I would not recommend either company , this is the worst customer experience I have had in a very very long time. I can categorically state that I wouldn't recommend DROPPA or FIRST FREIGHT and will never use them for my courier needs.ever. I'm annoyed.
And now after agreeing to process refund for the second time; they send email ( 10th of December ) to they can't send refund to an international account, and yet again I provided them with the same south african account details I had provided them with when processing the first refund. Absolutely ridiculous. At this point I don't care if they don't pay me back, such incompetence is debilitating. I'm looking for a different courier company as write this.Read more
