The absolute WORST experience
We had scheduled a move from JHB to CPT for 28 Jan 2023 - 31 Jan 2023 COLLECTION: We were asked if there were any items to be bubble-wrapped prior to accepting the quote - to which we answered yes, yet no bubble wrap was ever present. 09h00 on Saturday morning was the communicated collection time. The driver arrives at 14h25 - with the wrong truck. No communication between the driver and Load-A-Lot obviously. 14h30 we started waiting for the shuttle. The shuttle eventually arrived at 15h45. 16h20 all the items were moved out of the unit. In this process, one of the legs of the couch was completely broken off to have the couch 'squeeze through' the door - the same couch that had fit just fine when initially moving in. DELIVERY: Delivery scheduled for Tuesday, 31 January. The time communicated was 13h00. Naturally the lorry only arrives at 15h14. Upon opening the truck door, everyone including the delivery team gasped at what they saw - the washing machine was placed on top of the deep freeze and had tumbled all the way down, lying upside down now, and balancing on the legs of 2 overturned garden chairs. The boxes and baskets were all torn and broken, the inverter had tumbled over too, broke, and was missing a leg, the plants were all damaged, the mattress was wet and soaked.
