9We contracted MCL to handle our move, paid their quoted amount in full — including an additional R8,000 they requested later — and yet the service was never completed as agreed. Despite numerous assurances and promises from Maison, our belongings were not delivered in full and communication became unreliable and evasive.
After weeks of delays and empty promises, some of our belongings were retrieved from a squatter camp, while other items remain missing to this day. The fact that our personal possessions ended up in such conditions is completely unacceptable.
It has also become clear that MCL uses multiple subcontractors and has little to no control or tracking over who handles clients’ goods. When issues arose, MCL refused to take responsibility, instead shifting blame onto these subcontractors — despite the contract and all payments being made directly to Maison Carbon Logistics.
The matter has been handed over and will go through the correct channels.
This experience has caused us unnecessary stress, financial loss, and emotional distress.I strongly recommend that anyone considering Maison Carbon Logistics think twice before entrusting them with their belongings.Read more
They were a day late and came to collect my stuff in 2 loads with a BAKKIE. They took over 6 hours to return for the second load when the truck was an hour away.
I was promised a 10 ton truck for a shared load,4 guys and blankets. We got a bakkie and 2 guys and no blankets. I gave them one of ours to use to cover some of the stuff.
The drivers empties their litter in front of the house, into the street where i moved from.
Since then Have been in contact almost daily... On monday it will be 6 weeks and I am still camping in my house. I had to buy inflatable matresses, bedding, towels, clothing to wear to my new job; I have to take my washing to the Laundromat at least once a week, sometimes twice and i have to buy Ice almost every day to keep our stuff cold in the cooler boxes.
They keep saying this weekend. OR Definately on Friday, defiantely on tuesday.... I am beyond tired. I opened a case of fraud against them and i have a lawyer who has made contact with them and has started litigation.
I have asked about a refund, and to date, i have not heard anything about it.
If you want a company to get rid of your stuff, they are great. If you want your stuff in a timely manner, its not the company to use - they also outsource Excuss logistics who have trucks that break down every week and seem to be incapable of outsourcing again to get your stuff to you that you paid R18k for them to have at your new house in 3 days.Read more
We have now finally moved and have had a good and hard look at the situation where no amount of apologies will suffice, sadly.
A five ton truck was ordered for 9 30 and confirmed
A one ton bakkie arrived at 2 30 l..no blankets-nothing!!!
I was told that they had another load to do first in Johannesburg which is unacceptable.
At that late stage there was nothing we could do
I specifically made note of a piano to be moved of which they had absolutely no knowledge of how to move a piano - carrying it upside down and it it now out of tune
Boxes marked fragile had other heavier items placed on top - I am at this stage too scared to open them
The driver [Name removed by Sirelo] - was arrogant and was telling US what to do that eventually my wife pulled him aside and told him that he is the employee and that WE tell him what to do, not the other way around
He wouldn't move the last load until he had received the money from Maison and that was a drama of note - I was eventually getting very scared as he was making he close my car door when I tried to talk to you
From early morning you did not answer your phone - that is most unprofessional.
[Name removed by Sirelo] asked me for a little something for the guys which I agreed on and gave him R600 to split between the 3 of them. He then tried to get me to pay guys at the house where we moved to who HE asked to help and negotiated a
price and I said NO - he did that - he is to pay
He was disrespectful to the extreme.
We had to cut a huge amount of branches from trees so that the truck could get in.
I had to pay guys who were there in the morning to help and they eventually as arranged, left at 1
My cats and dogs were extremely traumatised by all the unnecessary activity
They loaded on valuable paintings by just pushing them in on the side
[Name removed by Sirelo] alaso admitted to me later that he was a subcontractor, that he didn't have a 5 ton truck and that the bakkie was his own
I then also had to pay you an additional R1 000 which I did under duress, considering that his side of the arrangement was not metRead more
We had to do all the following up as there was no communication fro Masons side. So much for the claim that you can trace the movement in real time. It became more difficult to contact them and tried to put the blame on a sub-contractor that was not part of the contract that we had with Mason Carbon Logistics.
I have to resort to reporting the mattress as stolen as Masons are not taking any blame for this.
They claim to have insurance so we do not understand why they can just send us a claim form to fill in, accept if the this is not true.
Do not use this company for your move.Read more
