Having moved countries - and locally - multiple times, this was one of the most seamless moves we have had. From the day they took on handling of our container, [Name removed by Sirelo] was proactively communicative, with detailed updates that also set realistic expectations. What particularly stood out is that he held our hand through the container clearance process with SARS (tax authorities), including going to the SARS offices with us, in person. Importantly, [Name removed by Sirelo] is clearly experienced and very informed with the complex process of Customs clearance.
The moving crew was very professional, efficient, and diligent in checking with us on how we want our boxes and items unpacked. Beyond being respectful, they are also the nicest and funniest bunch of guys to work with. The crew is experienced and clearly works together well, expertly reassembling furniture without instruction manuals. Importantly, the crew is very careful with the personal belongings, handling boxes and moving furniture in a way that prevents damage - we did not have any damaged items after the unpack.
Subsequently, we have used The Moving Guy for a local, short-distance move, which was also executed professionally, efficiently and with utmost care.
Financially, we absolutely felt like we got the most bang for our buck!Read more

Outstanding moving experience. I ended up unwell and in hospital in the run up to our move, and [Name removed by Sirelo] and his team were phenomenal in their flexibility, care and help in getting our house packed up. Communication was excellent, they went above and beyond, and all our stuff arrived impeccably packed. Honest and trustworthy, we accidentally left a valuable item behind and found it beautifully packed amongst our goods on arrival in the UK. I cannot recommend the team enough.

Best Service and communication, move went so well, The Moving Guy staff were exceptional and went over and above , cannot fault them what so ever. Best Movers by far they have a CPT and JHB branch and have sent multiple items with them inter city. Guy and Nic are fabulous.

They fetched our things on 31 August 23. It wasn’t a full container and we understood that it might take longer. Guy just doesn’t answer his email, calls etc. It has been a week and no response. The previous conversation my husband had was also after a week of harassment. We were told by end October our things would leave. It is 24 Nov. We are not sure if we own our things anymore. Will not recommended him to anyone. Poor communication skills. Very willing in the beginning to take your money and household items. Now silence.

We were told we can expect our shipment by the end of March ETA and now we are looking at the end of April? All we have had is empty promises the whole entire process. The after service they offer is absolutely shocking that we have had to beg for answers and told to follow up ourselves.
