From the first contact I was very impressed. Mario, the owner, personally reached out to me on WhatsApp and even called me. He mentioned that they do not do site visits for properties with fewer than three bedrooms, which I found strange, and instead asked me to send a video of the property. He was very responsive and in constant contact during this stage.
After about a week, I informed him that their quote was one of the higher quotes I had received and that I wanted to explore some other options before deciding. After that message I never heard from him again and I am fairly certain he blocked me on WhatsApp.
Nonetheless, based on the initial service I had received, I decided to go ahead with Mario’s Movers. Unfortunately, I really wish I had chosen another company.
The service on the day of the move was shocking. The team had been provided with detailed lists and images of all items to be moved. They arrived early and I allowed them to start while my domestic worker oversaw the process. Three pictures were removed from the walls and packaged even though they were not on the list. The team on site explained that Ernest, the manager, had not provided them with the updated list. This showed a complete lack of communication between the office staff and the team on site.
Mario had also specifically assured me that my beds could be disassembled using a cordless drill. However, no drill was provided to the team and they were unaware of this arrangement. Ernest attempted to blame me for this as it’s not a service they offer their clients, despite the fact that it had been confirmed with Mario, the owner, and clearly mentioned in email communication several times and I even reminded him again 48 hours before the move.
To make matters worse, a ring of mine went missing from my bedroom while the team was packing up my furniture. Naturally the team denied any involvement and no accountability was taken.
The same lack of professionalism continued during redelivery. The team dropped our dining room table top in front of my husband, causing visible damage. Once again, they denied that anything had happened and refused to take responsibility.
Overall the experience was chaotic and extremely frustrating. There was a clear lack of communication between staff, no accountability was taken for mistakes made, and dealing with Ernest in particular was very unpleasant.Read more
They were so helpful with last minute assistance where required, accommodating all our requests and going over and beyond to make this exhausting experience as smooth as possible for our family. We also used their service for packing some Kitchen boxes and this was done in a very professional manner.
I can highly recommend them, I hope I will never need to move again, but if I do I will absolutely be using them again!
