69My move from Grabouw to George was around R25,000, I paid a R13,000 deposit, plus another R2,400 for a shuttle in George, because I was told the 17-metre truck arranged for my move would not be allowed into the estate.
I sent extensive photos, videos, voice notes and updates showing the full contents of my household. I repeatedly asked whether there would be enough space and was repeatedly assured that the truck was large enough and that there would be no extra charge.
Then moving day arrived.
Instead of the 17-metre truck I had been promised, a 7-ton truck and trailer arrived.
Even the driver appeared surprised by the amount that needed to be moved. I was later told directly that “[Name removed by Sirelo] made an error with the volume.” The explanation then changed again, with responsibility apparently being shifted elsewhere.
At that point, I was standing outside my packed-up home, on the day of a long-distance relocation, being told to start loading and that they would “see” if another vehicle could be sent.
That is completely unacceptable.
What concerns me most is that I had already paid for the shuttle specifically because of the large truck I had been told would arrive — yet that truck never came.
I have kept all the WhatsApp messages, voice notes, photos, videos, invoices and proof of payment.
This was not a minor inconvenience. It was my entire household, a long-distance move, and a substantial amount of money.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering SA Movz to get the exact truck size, actual transport provider, outsourcing arrangements and all capacity promises in writing before paying anything.
